Songwriting Workshop

Specifically aimed at high-school songwriters, this class explores the basics of songwriting. The first half of will focus on the fundamentals of structure, lyric, melody, style and the importance of "a hook". We will discuss what makes a song successful, the art of collaboration and how to give and accept feedback in a productive way.

In the second half of the class, students will present their songs for feedback and discussion. This is not mandatory, but we encourage anyone who has a song to share it. There will be a piano and guitar and speakers (for students who would like to play a track) available.

There will be two classes offered on Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th from 12:00pm-4:00 pm. Cost is $75/student. Classes will be held at New Musicals Inc. in North Hollywood.
